Hubert Lienhard

Hubert Lienhard ( * 1951 in Triberg im Schwarzwald) is a German manager. He's since April 1, 2008 Chairman of the Corporate Management Board of Voith GmbH.

After studying chemistry and the Ph.D. increased Lienhard 1981 at Lurgi GmbH, for which he worked for several years in the United States and Scotland. In 1989 he moved to ABB Power Generation AG, Mannheim. At first he was head of steam turbine business and in 1993 member of the board. 1994 Lienhard was appointed to the board of ABB AG Germany and in 1996 was also a member of the board of management of the power plant division of ABB Ltd.. Zurich. During this time he managed the global business cycle power plants of the ABB Group.

His time at Voith GmbH began Lienhard 2001 as a member of the board. Since 2002, he was with the task of the Presidency of the Board of Voith Siemens Hydro Power Generation GmbH & Co. KG (now Voith Hydro Holding GmbH & Co. KG ) and other functional responsibilities entrusted. Voith Hydro is a joint venture of Voith and Siemens in the field of mechanical and electrical equipment for hydro power plants.

Lienhard was until April 14, 2011 Member of the Board of Directors of Sulzer AG. He currently has a seat on the supervisory boards of graphite and carbon specialist SGL Group, the Baden-Württemberg energy supplier EnBW the precious metals and technology company Heraeus Holding and plant construction and engineering company SMS Group. Lienhard is a member of the Restricted Board of VDMA, member of the East- Asian Business Association ( OAV ), a member of the Indo-German Advisory Group and member of the German - Chinese Dialogue Forum. On February 3, 2014 Hubert Lienhard took over the chairmanship of the Asia -Pacific Committee of German Business ( APA).

Lienhard is married and has two children.
