Hubert Mordek

Hubert Mordek ( born May 8, 1939 in Namslau; † 17 March 2006 Langensteinbach (Carlsbad) ) was a German historian.

Hubert Mordek studied the subjects of history, Latin, and philosophy in Kiel, Würzburg and Tübingen. 1969 doctorate Mordek Horst Fuhrmann with the work of the law collections in the handwriting of Bonnveal - a work of the Carolingian reform. In the early 1970s he worked at the German Historical Institute in Rome. In 1975 his post-doctoral work with canon law and reform in the Frankish kingdom. The Collectio Vetus Gallica, the oldest systematic collection of cannon Frankish Gaul. Studies and edition. Since 1978 Mordek taught until his retirement in Medieval History at the Albert- Ludwigs- University of Freiburg.

His main focus was on the churches and legal history of the Middle Ages, canon law, the edition of the Carolingian Mr. Scherer Lasse and the capitularies.
