Hubert Raudaschl

Hubert Raudaschl ( born August 26, 1942 in Sankt Gilgen ) is a successful Austrian sailor and an honorary citizen of his home town.

Raudaschl operates since 1950 the sport of sailing competitively. Overall, it took from 1960 to 1996 in ten Olympic Games in different boat classes part. He was so until 2012, so far the only athlete in the world, who are ten Olympic participations to book. However, he was only spare man at the games in 1960 and did not take part in the competitions. Thus, it is mentioned in the list of athletes with the most Olympic appearances with only nine appearances, ten participations it brought the Canadian rider Ian Millar.

His greatest successes were the winning silver at the 1968 Olympic Games in the Finn and 1980 in the Star and the World Champion title in 1964 ( Finn ) and 1978 (Mini Tonner ).

Today Hubert Raudaschl internationally known producer of sails and boat designer. Also sailor was his brother Walter, with whom he participated in the 1976 Olympic Games. Hubert's son, Florian, sailed in the Finn dinghy at the Olympic Games in 2012.
