Hudcovce

Hudcovce ( until 1927 slovak " Hudcovce "; Hungarian Hegedűsfalva - to 1882 Hegedüsfalva ) is a municipality in eastern Slovakia.

The community is located about halfway between the district capitals Humenné and Vranov nad Topľou, in a left tributary of the middle Ondava. The rising terrain to the north is one of the foothills of the mountain Ondauer country ( Ondavská Highlands ).

Due to the agricultural community Hudcovce the National Road 558 from Vranov nad Topľou leads to Humenné.

The town was first mentioned in writing in 1467. The Roman Catholic church dates from 1934 and is of St. Therese of Lisieux dedicated.

In Hudcovce live almost exclusively Slovaks. 89 % of the population profess the Roman Catholic Church. 10% are Greek Catholic Christians.
