Hugh Davis Merrill

Hugh Davis Merrill (born 20 December 1877 in Franklin, Heard County, Georgia, † January 5, 1954 ) was an American politician and lawyer.

Hugh Davis Merrill attended the schools of Franklin, his hometown, and Edwardville, Alabama. In 1897 he received the College Oxford Bachelor of Arts degree and then studied at the University of Alabama on. After he finished his studies in 1898, Merrill began practicing as a lawyer in Edwardsville. He worked here with his father.

Between 1900 and 1901 he was a member of the Board of Cleburne County until he moved with his father to Aniston in 1902 and six years later founded with his brother, the Senator WB Merrill, a partnership.
