Hugh Farquharson

Hugh Miller Farquharson ( born November 14, 1911 in Montreal, Quebec; † 27 March 1985) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player and coach.

Career

Hugh Farquharson began his career as a hockey player at McGill University, for their team, he was active from 1927 to 1934. He then played for the Montreal Royals. As a guest player he represented the Port Arthur Bearcats 1936 Canada at the Olympic Winter Games. In the season 1936/37, he entered Europe for the Southampton Vikings from the English National League. From 1937 to 1942 he was head coach of the McGill University. In the season 1941/42, he also oversaw the parallel Army Team Montreal Navy.

Internationally

For Canada Farquharson took part in the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, where he won the silver medal with his team.
