Hugh Marlowe

Hugh Marlowe ( born January 30, 1911 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, † May 2, 1982 in New York City, New York, USA ) was an American actor and radio host.

Life

Marlowe was born Hugh Herbert Hipple in Philadelphia. He began his career in the 1930s at the Pasadena Playhouse in California. Early on, he showed great interest in acting and the film. Due to its impressive size of 1.80 m, it usually played either the "strong husband " or the wayward, wacky scientists. In the 1940s he played with, although in some well-known films, but he should never be known to a wider audience. He usually played the supporting role and was rarely occupied in the lead role.

In the 1950s, he played his probably most famous role, that of Doctor Carozal in the horror film Castle of Evil, a film that to this day enjoys a growing fan base in the U.S., while in Europe, the film is virtually unknown. In 1974, he starred in the Broadway production of All My Sons with.

Hugh Marlowe was married three times and had three children. He died on May 2, 1982 to a heart attack.
