Hughie Thomasson

Hughie Thomasson ( born August 13, 1952 in Tampa, Florida, † September 9, 2007 in Brooksville, Florida ) was an American singer and guitarist.

Thomasson 1972 was a founder of the Southern rock band The Outlaws, whose singer and guitarist he was. The band made ​​the breakthrough in 1974 when she performed as the opening act for Lynyrd Skynyrd at a concert in Columbia, Georgia. For the Outlaws Thomasson wrote most of the songs, including Green Grass and High Tides or Hurry Sundown. After the dissolution of the band, he was between 1996 and 2005 at the band Lynyrd Skynyrd. In 2005, the Outlaws came together again and went on tour together.

On September 9, 2007 Hughie Thomasson died of heart failure.
