Hugo Rossi

Hugo Rossi ( born 1935 ) is an American mathematician who deals with complex analysis.

Rossi studied at the City College of New York with a bachelor 's degree in 1956 and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a master's degree in 1957 and his doctorate at Isadore Singer 1960 ( Maximality of algebras of holomorphic functions). In 1960 he became an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, and in the same year at Princeton University. In 1963 he became associate professor in 1966 and professor at Brandeis University. In 1985 he became a professor at the University of Utah, where he was Dean from 1987.

1983/84 he was at the Institute for Advanced Study. From 1980 to 1985 he was editor of the Pacific Journal of Mathematics and 1973-1978 co-editor of the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society. He is a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society.
