Hugo Wieslander

Karl Hugo Wieslander ( born June 11, 1889 in Ljuder, community Lessebo, † May 24 1976 in Bromma ) was a Swedish athlete.

At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912, he finished with 688 points behind Jim Thorpe ranked second in the decathlon. A year later Thorpe was disqualifizifiert because he had played baseball for money. Thus Wieslander 1913 was subsequently declared an Olympic champion.

It was not until 1982, Jim Thorpe by the IOC rehabilitated and determined both Wieslander and Thorpe Olympic medalists in the decathlon at the Games in 1912.

On October 15, 1911 in Gothenburg Hugo Wieslander also made it with 5516 points on the first world record in the pentathlon.
