Huiliches Department

The department Huiliches located in the southwest of the province of Neuquen in southern Argentina and is one of 16 administrative units in the province.

It is bordered to the north by the Departamento Aluminé, on the east by the departments Catán Lil and Collón Curá, to the south by the Departamento Lácar and to the west by Chile.

The capital of the department is Huiliches Junín de los Andes.

Population

According to estimates by the INDEC, the population increased from 12,700 inhabitants (2001) to 13,785 inhabitants in 2005.

The department Huiliches divided into a first class municipality ( Junín de los Andes ) and the Cuarteles Auca Pan, Atreuco, Chiquilihuin, Malleo, Tropezón, Puerto Tromen and Tres Puentes.
