Hukkle -. The village is a Hungarian experimental thriller by György Pálfi from 2002 The first performance took place in Germany on 24 April 2003.
Action
In a Hungarian village plagued by a hiccup old man sits with a pot of milk in front of his house. He observed the daily village life. A young man steers past a horse-drawn carriage full of milk churns at him. Normally, the young man would clean up the milk cans, but he feels disturbed by a girl sitting in the sun. A threshing machine works. A cat is poisoned and dies. An old woman plowed her field, killing a mole, she gives her dog. A farmer leads his boar to a sow. The two owners of copulation look too pleased. The men of the village are trying to kill time. The old man still has hiccups.
The village seems to be idyllic, but there happen strange things. Women act with bottles containing an unknown liquid. Now and then dies a resident. The whole village comes together and comfort the widow. Everything seems harmless, and life goes after the funeral on its course. As a fisherman disappears, the police chief of the village orders an investigation, but nothing happens. Again and again disappear men from the village. At the end of the film a wedding takes place, in which some girls sing an old folk tune, which discloses the secret of the village. With the help of a poisonous mixture, the women bring gradually the men of the village.
