Huldah

Hulda (Hebrew חֻלְדָּה, chuldāh ) is a prophet of the Hebrew Bible ( 2 Kings 22,14 EU).

The name Hulda is probably the feminine form of the Hebrew חלֶד ( cholæd ), so a mole or weasel is called. It is also the feminine of חֶלֶד ( chælæd ), " life ".

After 2 Kings 22.8 to 20 EU and 2 Chr 34.22 to 28 EU Hulda is the wife of Shallum. It is used in Jerusalem during the reign of King Josiah of Judah as a prophetess. When they Josiah from the "Book of the Law" reads that had been found by Hilkiah the high priest during the repair work on the temple, he sends a delegation to consult YHWH. The delegation aimed at Hulda, in the prophecy a two-part word of YHWH aligns then. First announced in an evil prophecy that because of their disobedience, all the evil described in the " book" will come upon the apostate nation. In the second part Hulda transmits the personal promise of salvation to Josiah, after which he did not have to watch the disaster because he had humbled himself before YHWH. Rather, he would previously gathered to his fathers in peace, and brought to his burial site.
