Sandwich -Man is a form of advertising.

Function

In this case, a person moves, each with a reinforced poster on the chest and on the back (also known as sandwich board designated ) by high-traffic areas, such as a pedestrian or event. Also for outdoor advertising include the similar in function called Running Flags of German about running advertising flags, where Beach flags are carried on the back of promoters. Due to their height they are in crowd reinforced perceptible and the advertising space is no longer limited only to the flags, but can also be attached to the clothing of the standard bearer.

History

This form of outdoor advertising has a long tradition in the history of advertising. Already in 1820 Sandwichmen were used in London as a mobile, human advertising, should be paid as taxes for advertising and competition increased by banners. In August 2008, the mobile billboard advertising in the central London streets was prohibited because - according to estimates by the city council around 100 - Sandwich -Men were evaluated impediment to traffic and negatively affects the cityscape.

2006 Running flags were introduced in Germany and apply as an alternative to Sandwichmen.
