Human Potential Movement
The Human Potential Movement ( HPM abbreviation ) emerged in the 1960s and were primarily from the U.S. state of California. It grew out of the idea that many people in a slumber nor untapped development potential. The movement is based on the premise that people by developing their potential for development to improve their quality of life and could live a life of emotional balance, creativity and fulfillment. It developed within the followings a culture of mutual potential promotion, which was associated with the assumption that it would have to result in the long run a positive overall social effect. Strong impetus for the HPM went out, among others, Abraham Maslow and Carl Rogers.
