Life and work

After the finishing touch to his scientific studies, Lloyd turned to as a physicist mainly optical problems. He has focused particularly on theoretical questions of reflection of light. Fundamental to the physics of optics here were especially his experiments on interference of light, which he carried out with a single mirror. Of particular importance are his theoretical studies of the conical refraction were.
