The Hundstalkogel is a mountain ridge of the violin, a mountain range of the Ötztal Alps. Routes

  • From Trenkwald: From Trenkwald over the marked trail to Hundbachalm. Continue along the path to Breitlehnerjöchl to the south of the Sturpen. Well north into the talus slope below the Sturpen east and up along the creek below the Verbindungsgrates Sturpen - Hundstalkogel. Under the large Gratabbruch of Verbindungsgrates through to a Karschwelle in the north is reached. In shallow gravel channels or steep scree slopes as far left up to the talus slope to the southeast under the mountain ( The Hundskar ). Now in the talus slope right down to its northwestern corner, up a steep, narrowing rubble gully on the south ridge of Hundstalkogels is visible. This often filled by Firn channel ( I) extremely laborious up. In severe icing you climb just below the ridge right into the rock and win the ridge height by moderately difficult climb (II). Up over the ridge, initially broad. The first, deep col, overcomes on the east side by increases over rocks in the channel and recovered by the rocks of the other side of the ridge height.
