Hungarian Grand Prix

The Hungarian Grand Prix was first held in 1936. Since 1986, he is one of the Grand Prix world championship races Formula 1 and is carried out in each case at the Hungaroring since the year 1986.

Opened in 1986 with a total route length of 4013.786 m was the first venue of a Formula 1 Grand Prix in a country of the former Eastern Bloc.

In 1989 the route was shortened by 45 m by a combination of curves has been removed to create an additional overtaking. The conversion of the start and finish line in 1997 extended the route to a length of 3.982 km. In 2003, extensive renovations were carried out in which the line was extended to the current length of 4383.08 m.
