Hungarian Soviet Republic

On June 25, 1919 Kun's government announced a " dictatorship of the proletariat ," to which banks, large industrial, apartment buildings and businesses with more than twenty employees were nationalized. Land over 100 yoke was expropriated and organized agricultural cooperatives. Approximately 590 people were executed by revolutionary tribunals.

The Soviet Republic collapsed when Romanian troops in the Hungarian- Romanian War occupied the Hungarian capital Budapest. Successor state was the Kingdom of Hungary under Regent Miklós Horthy.
