Hungary women's national handball team

The Hungarian women's national handball team represents Hungary in international tournaments in women's handball.

History

The first tournaments of the Hungarians were in the field handball world championships, where Hungary in 1949 the world title won in 1956 and finished in third place. In 1957 the World Championships were held in the hall. Here Hungary was one of the strongest teams that played regularly for the podium. At the World Championship 1965 Hungary remained the only team unbeaten and won his first title in the hall. In the early 1980s, however, Hungary lost the connection to the top. After the Hungarians were able to establish themselves in the world rankings for the mid- 1990s, again, the selection team celebrated another title at the 2000 European Championships.
