Hungry Hill

The Hungry Hill ( Irish: Cnoc Daod ) is a 686 meter high mountain and is located in Ireland in the Caha Mountains on the Beara Peninsula in County Cork County. The name of the mountain is probably an incorrect interpretation of Angry Hill.

Only in the lower part there are some trees, otherwise it's down to the expansive summit high very rocky and marshy. An easy ascent is from the south possible. The first 300 meters of altitude can be mastered through a comfortable way. After solid and waterproof footwear is necessary. It's at times through ankle- deep water, which can not be avoided by detours. Road markings is very sparse and often difficult to see. Despite the damp rise you will always find interesting rock formations and small clear lakes. The summit is very extensive. The peak offers then - depending on the weather conditions - a charming view over the Beara Peninsula and the sea.
