Hur Jae

Hur Jae ( born September 28, 1965 in Seoul ) is a former South Korean basketball player and coach since the end of his career. It was from the late 1980s to the mid 2000s active. At the Summer Olympics in 1988 in Seoul Hur said the Olympic oath.

1988 Hur Jae was a member of the amateur basketball teams of the automaker Kia Motors. In the same year he took part in the held in Seoul Olympic Games. During the opening ceremony, he said, along with the Women's Handball Son Mi -na the Olympic oath of the athletes. With the national team he reached the ninth place among the twelve teams in the Olympic tournament. He was with the team Kia Motors Between 1988 and 1996 seven times national champion. In the 1990 World Cup Hur Jae scored 62 points in the game against Egypt, which is to this day record score of an individual player in a World Cup match. These were, however, to the placement match for the last place in which both teams showed little more effort in the defense due to the low value of the game. Hur Jae was a participant at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. He reached number five with his team. His career ended Hur Jae at the team Wonju TG Xers in 2004. Since June 2005, he coached the Jeonju KCC Egis. Since 2009 he is also coach of South Korea, but among the Asian Cup 2009, only a disappointing 7th place.
