Hvítavatn

It is located approximately in the middle between the Sídujökull and the Skeiðarárjökull, two southern foothills of Iceland's largest glacier Vatnajökull. He is located about 15 km north of the infamous Skeiðarásanders.

Given the large number of glaciers in Iceland, it is not surprising that many of the lakes and rivers either the adjective hvítur ( Isl = white ) lead in the name or names are compositions with the noun Jökull ( Isl = glacier).
