Hvozdnice (Hradec Králové District)

Hvozdnice ( German Wosnitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located nine kilometers southwest of the center of Hradec Králové and belongs to Okres Hradec Králové.

Geography

Neighboring towns are Těchlovice in the north, and Stěžery Hříbsko in the Northeast, Nova Hvozdnice, Vlčkovice and Plačice in the east, in the southeast Urbanice, Sedlice and Lhota pod Libčany in the south, Roudnice the southwest, Libčany in the west and Radíkovice in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of Hvozdnice dates from the year 1073, the first occupation of the site took place a long time ago.; Near Hvozdnice two unexplored grave mounds were found, which are also as in the neighboring Želí the Aunietitzer culture probably attributable.

After the abolition of patrimonial Voznice formed with the district Nová Voznice 1850 a municipality in the district of Hradec Králové. In 1949 she was assigned to the Okres Hradec Králové - okolí. In 1961, the annexation to Libčany and came at the same time again to Okres Hradec Králové. Since 1992, the community is again.
