HVV Den Haag

The Haagse Voetbal Vereniging ( German: The Hague Football Association, abbreviation HVV) is the football department of the Dutch sports club Koninklijke HCVV from The Hague. Founded in 1883, the HVV is one of the oldest football clubs in the country.

Today the HVV only plays in the amateur league of the KNVB. Through its successes in the early 20th century (ten national championships ) but it is up today after Ajax Amsterdam, PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord Rotterdam of the most successful football club in the Netherlands.

23 HVV players came to stakes in the Dutch national football team - all from 1905 until 1933.

Active for the HVV were eg Jan van Breda Kolff, Cedric van der Gun, Guus Lutjens, Dolf Kessler, Lo La Chapelle, Adam Lawrence and Karel Heijting.

Achievements

  • Dutch soccer champions: 1891, 1896, 1900, 1901, 1902, 1903, 1905, 1907, 1910 and 1914
  • KNVB Cup winners: 1903, also a finalist in 1899, 1904 and 1910
