Hwasong-5

The Hwasong -5 is a single-level North Korean short -range missile, based on the Soviet Scud -B. It differs substantially from the Soviet version in that it includes an improved engine and can be equipped with chemical and biological warheads.

Presumably, North Korea received the first rocket in 1976 from Egypt for help in the Yom Kippur War. Since about 1986, North Korea produced these missiles themselves and they also exported ( for example, in Iran, which they used as the Shahab -1).

North Korea probably has 12 to 15 launchers for Scud missiles.
