Hyannis is the largest of seven Villages of Barnstable town in the east of the U.S. state of Massachusetts.
Hyannis has 20,097 inhabitants (as USCensus 2000) and is the seat of the municipality of Barnstable. The place is a hub for the Cape Cod region, with ferry services to the islands of Nantucket and Martha 's Vineyard.
It is known that lying in the harbor exclusive neighborhood Hyannis Port, where among other things the Kennedys own a house. The local JFK Hyannis Museum reported in detail by John F. Kennedy's time in Hyannis.
