Hydropolis

Hydropolis should be the first multi-room underwater hotel in the world. It was initiated in cooperation with the German designer Joachim Hauser facade and with the approval of the Dubai Development and Investment Authority ( DDIA ) in the Persian Gulf off Dubai through the mediation of Hans Peter Pesenhofer following plans Siemens IBC (Roland Dieterle ). This Dubai wanted to create another attraction for tourism.

Hydropolis should lie at a depth of 20 meters below sea level and have 220 rooms (total area of approximately 75,000 m² subsea installation ). A Plexiglas tunnel should connect the hotel with the associated land station ( 30,000 m²). The construction costs were estimated at about 520 million euros.

Allegedly, in order to increase the awareness in Germany and to find investors and stock buyer, Hydropolis 2006 was the main sponsor of the football division side VfB Lübeck.

The actual status of the project is uncertain in September 2009.
