The southern end of the valley is marked by the steep slopes of the Montagne du Lomont. It forms in geological- tectonic respects an anticlinal folds of the Jura and is oriented in the direction west-east according to the strike of the mountains in this region. With 821 m is reached on the crest of Lomont the highest elevation of Hyémondans.
