The Nimba Mountain Reed Frog ( Hyperolius nimbae ) is a reed frog which is endemic in the Republic of Côte d' Ivoire ( Ivory Coast) and named after the Nimba Mountains. The frog was between 1967 and its rediscovery in 2010 as extinct.

Features

The Nimba Mountain Reed Frog is one of the larger reed frogs, the males reach 30-37 mm, females 34-38 mm. The back is pitted or tuberculate. They have extensive webbing.

Distribution and habitat

The habitat of the Nimba mountain reed frog are marsh edges and clearings in lowland on the southeastern edge of the Nimba Mountains. There may also populations in Guinea and Liberia.
