Hyrylä

Hyrylä [ Hyrylä ] ( swedish Skavaböle ) is a town in the municipality of Tuusula in southern Finland. It is the largest and southernmost of the three centers of population of the municipality and seat of the municipality of Tuusula. In place Hyrylä live 19 881 inhabitants ( 2004).

Hyrylä is located about 14 km from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport and is accessible via the motorway developed as a main road 45 ( Tuusulanväylä ) to Helsinki, which lies 28 km away. In the place many people have moved there, who as a commuter their jobs in Helsinki.

Hyrylä emerged in the 19th century by a Russian garrison in the time when Finland was a Grand Duchy of Finland part of the Russian Empire. Later, the air defense regiment Helsinki was stationed here. Even today in Hyrylä the Finnish Anti-Air Museum ( Ilmatorjuntamuseo ).
