Hyundai Group

The Hyundai Group has long been the largest corporate conglomerates ( chaebol ) of South Korea, before being overtaken by the Samsung Group.

Hyundai was founded in 1947 by Chung Ju -yung as a construction company. The meteoric rise and the branch began to become a major company after it was first held in 1965 construction projects in Thailand. The group founded in rapid succession new companies that grew in the fields of plant, heavy machinery, shipbuilding and marine engine, furniture, electrical engineering, electronics and vehicle insurance as well as to large companies.

Due to the economic crisis in Asia in the late 1990s, the company had to be restructured, while the companies Hyundai Kia Automotive Group, Hyundai Department Store Group, Hyundai Development Group and Hyundai Heavy Industries Group was spun off from Hyundai Group.
