I'm a Cult Hero is a single that was released by an expanded cast of The Cure under the name of Cult Hero.

History

The single was (then bassist of The Magspies ) taken by Robert Smith ( lead singer and guitarist of The Cure ) and Simon Gallup as a kind of test, whether they were musically compatible. Smith moved Gallup as a replacement for Michael Dempsey ( the former bassist of The Cure ) ) into consideration, as Smith and he had personal as well as differences with respect to the band.

The pieces were for the local postman Horley, Frank Bell, written and sung by him. He is also depicted on the cover of the single. Furthermore, also the ex -The- Cure guitarist Porl Thompson, keyboardist of The Magspies, Matthieu Hartley, as well as other friends, family members had with the two initiators and members of the local band The Obtainers.
