I Have a Dream (song)

December 1979

I Have a Dream is a song by Swedish pop group ABBA. It was written and composed by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The song has a playing time of four minutes and 45 seconds and is sung by Anni- Frid Lyngstad. In December 1979, it was coupled with a live version of Take a Chance on Me as the last single from the album Voulez -Vous and the 1970s.

Formation

With job titles like I Know a Song or Take Me in Your Armpit I Have a Dream was recorded in March 1979 as the last song of the sessions for the album Voulez -Vous. A significant feature in this song is that a children's choir was used. This was discussed long before the plan was implemented. For the first time could be heard on an ABBA song voices that do not come from the band itself.

" Some thought that this may a bit over the top would be shot. But I do not agree, because in my opinion it was quite true that we had the choir here "

For text Ulvaeus said later:

"I remember that I had written the text to I Have A Dream at home. When I was finished, I immediately called to Benny. Since he and Frida just gave a party, they invited me, but come over to them. When I was there then, we went to the play in front of all guests at the piano by the same time. After a short time all sang along, because it was so easy to learn "

On the U.S. tour the group in the fall of 1979, she had in every city in which they occurred, a local children's choir for I Have a Dream. In the spring of 1980, the song titled Estoy Soñando was recorded in Spanish.
