I Missed Again

I Missed Again is a rock song by Phil Collins from 1981, which appeared on the album Face Value.

The song, as well as some other songs from the album Face Value, is about the anger and frustration because of his first wife who had left him before. The first demo recording of the song was still wearing the Title I Miss You, Babe, and the text had a dark mood. In order to make it appear more comical instead, Collins wrote the words new, the piece played in a different tempo and changed the title to I Missed Again.

In the U.S., the song reached in May 1981 No. 19 on the Billboard charts in the UK and number 20 of the UK Top 40 In Germany it reached number 23 of the Media Control Charts.

In the accompanying music video Collins sings the song in front of white background and impersonates musical instruments after.
