I SALONISTI are a Swiss piano quintet which was established in 1981. The five musicians living in Bern.

Music

With its thematically inspired concert programs, I SALONISTI move consciously beyond rigid categories of U- and E - music. I SALONISTI play including works by Nino Rota, Fritz Kreisler, George Enescu, Astor Piazzolla, Claude Debussy, George Gershwin, Béla Bartók, Emmerich Kálmán, Kurt Weill and Johannes Brahms. With many years of contacts with composers in various countries, they play compositions and arrangements written for them.

The phenomenon of salon music renaissance since the 1980s have I SALONISTI co-initiated and had a decisive influence.

Awards

Participation in the film Titanic (1997)

Through her role as a board Orchestra in James Cameron's blockbuster Titanic, the musicians were famous overnight in 1997 an audience of millions. The former composition consisted of Thomas Füri, Lorenz Hasler, Ferenc Szedlák, Béla Szedlák and Werner Giger.
