i1 Super Series
The series is organized by Machdar Motorsports and sanctioned by the FIA and FMSCI.
Format
In the i1 Super Series two races are held at each race weekend. At the 2012 season, nine teams should participate with two vehicles. A team ( franchise ) is an Indian city. Select per race weekend, the teams from a pool of 27 riders from two, so that a total of 18 pilots to be launched. In each team at least one Indian driver must start.
The racing series was originally due to take place from January to March and to prevent scheduling conflicts with other international racing series.
Racetracks
The i1 Super Series should deliver their race in Asia. All lines have world championship races of Formula 1, the FIA GT1 or the Motorcycle World Championship took place.
Vehicle
As the vehicle's sports car Radical SR3 serves. The engine is a 260 hp 1500 cc motorcycle engine from Suzuki. The curb weight of the vehicle is 570 kg and the maximum speed 250 km / h
Cancelled Season 2012
For the 2012 season racing in as- Sachir, Doha, Dubai, Greater Noida and on Yas Island were planned. Previously, a race in Sepang had already been canceled. Before the first race but the entire season was canceled.
From the series 30 drivers were nominated for the debut season. The nine teams were selected for each race two of these drivers for their team.
