IAHC
The International Ad Hoc Committee, in short IAHC, was one of the first organizations to some thoughts about the Internet and the allocation of domain names.

This organization closed following organizations with a:
- Internet Society ( ISOC)
- Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA)
- Internet Architecture Board ( IAB)
- Federal Networking Council ( FNC)
- International Telecommunication Union ( ITU)
- International Trademark Association (INTA )
- World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO )
Result of the work
The result of the work was a "Memorandum of Understanding ".
It describes a method for the assignment and management of domain names. In particular, for the award of top-level domain name. The "Generic Top Level Domain Memorandum of Understanding " can be signed by each and every organization. This memorandum has been signed to date from around 226 organizations.
The organization was disbanded on 1 May 1997.
Today this task organizations such as the POC or ICANN took over.
