Iain Glen

Iain Glen (* June 24, 1961 in Edinburgh) is a Scottish actor.

Life and career

Iain Glen studied at the Edinburgh Academy and the University of Aberdeen. He also completed his acting studies at the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts ( RADA ) in London.

In 1990 he won the Silver Bear for his performance in the film The Silent Scream. A year later he won the Evening Standard British Film Award for Best Actor for his role in Mountains of the Moon. In 2003, he starred in Richard Sorge - spy passion the lead role. In the fifth season of the BBC series Doctor Who he played Father Octavian in the episodes The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone. Since 2011, in the HBO series Game of Thrones as Ser Jorah Mormont is seen. In the Jack Taylor films according to the detective novels by Ken Bruen he embodies since 2010 the Irish title character, also he put in the 2nd season of the European series Borgia the Florentine Dominican monk Girolamo Savonarola dar.

From 1993 to 2004 Glen was married to fellow actress Susannah Harker, together they have a son. Since 2005 he has been romantically involved with actress Charlotte Emmerson. Their daughter came in September 2007 to the world.
