Ian Carey

Ian Carey (* September 13 1975 in Maryland ) is an American DJ and record producer. He stands at Supraton under contract.

Life

Carey's father was a sound engineer and put the amplifier technology for live concerts, among others, with music groups such as Kool and the Gang or the Duke Ellington Orchestra. During school holidays he took his son to the venues. Ian learned drums and played in the high school band. During college in Baltimore, he learned a few hip-hop DJs know and operated himself as a DJ.

After school he worked as a buyer in a record store. He moved from Hip Hop to House, who created many of the facilities for their own productions. His first publication Rise with Jason Papillon as Soul Providers with Michelle Shellers as a singer became a club hit in the UK and managed to 2001 even in the official charts. By 2004 a series of panels created with Papillon.

But in 2003, he turned away from America and moved to Europe, where he worked with Eddie Amador ( Mochico ) under the project name Saturated Soul. He also published strengthened under his own name or as " Ian Carey 45 " and he became a busy and much sought-after remixer. His trademark is his " funky bass line".

In 2007 he had a European hit with a revised edition of Rise under the new title Keep On Rising, with Michelle Shellers voice, which again reached number 10 among others in the Top 40 in the Netherlands. The next single Red Light was especially in his adopted country, the Netherlands, successfully.

In the same year he also launched the Ian Carey Project. With the second release under this name he had his biggest hit. The single "Get Shaky " was released in late 2008, first in Australia, where it reached # 2 on the charts and was certified platinum for 100,000 copies sold. The video for the song also won an MTV Award for Best Dance Video. Carey was similarly successful in New Zealand, where it reached number 7 and gold. In the summer of 2009 Get Shaky was published in Britain and rose even there an instant in the top 10 of the charts.
