Ian Cole

Ian Cole ( born February 21, 1989 in Ann Arbor, Michigan ) is an American professional ice hockey player standing since 2010 with the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League under contract and in parallel for their farm team in Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League plays.

Career

Ian Cole began his career as a hockey player in the U.S. National Team Development Program, for which he was active from 2005 to 2007 in the Junior League North American Hockey League. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2007 in the first round than a total of 18 players from the St. Louis Blues. First, however, he spent three years at the University of Notre Dame, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association. With his team he won the 2009 the CCHA Championship. He was elected to the first All-Star team of the CCHA and in the first All-American team in the Western Conference of the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

Towards the end of the 2009/10 season Cole was for St. Louis ' farm team Peoria Rivermen his debut in professional hockey when he was in the American Hockey League scoring one goal and four assists in nine games. In the season 2010/11 the Americans ran the first time for the St. Louis Blues in the National Hockey League. In his rookie year in 26 games he scored one goal and three assists. In parallel, he was still running for Peoria on in the AHL. In the following season he was also for St. Louis in the NHL and in the AHL Peoria on the ice.

Internationally

For the U.S., Cole participated in the Under-18 World Youth Championship 2007 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2008 and 2009 in part. In the 2007 U18 World Championships, he won the silver medal with his team.
