Ian D'Sa

Ian Michael D' Sa ( born October 30, 1975 in England) is a guitarist, backing vocalist and songwriter of the Canadian band Billy Talent.

Life and career

D' Sas family moved to Canada from England when he was 3 years old. He grew up in Mississauga, Ontario and began with 13 years to learn to play the guitar. In 1991 he founded with classmates a band called Dragon Flower. When two years later the band broke up, he formed the band Soluble Fish with whom he recorded the 5 - song demo Nugget Sauces. In 1993, he met Ben Kowalewicz, Jon Gallant and Aaron Solowoniuk at a school talent show know. With them he founded a second band next Soluble Fish, Pezz ( the predecessors band Billy Talent ). He played several years in both bands until Soluble Fish 1996 disbanded. While he played for Pezz, he attended Sheridan College where he received his BA degree in classical animation.

Billy Talent

1999 changed Pezz named after a character in the film Hard Core Logo in Billy Talent. After the recordings, the release and a tour to the album Billy Talent D' Sa was next to Gavin Brown co-producer during the recording of Billy Talent II He was also co-directed the video of Fallen Leaves, which the 2007 Much Music Award for Best Music Video and Best rock Video received.

D' Sa produced the song Do It or Die and Saved by Strangers for the Slaughter Daughter EP by Die Mannequin. He played guitar in the song Lucky Me and played many guest appearances at live shows ( among others, Alexisonfire, Sum 41, and Reuben ). He produced the first single Buried at Sea by The Operation MD on the album Birds Bee Stings. Ian D' Sa is committed to since 2007 for Song for Africa, a Canadian anti-AIDS project for which he wrote the song Land of a Thousand Hills.
