Ian Grojnowski

Ian Grojnowski is an Australian mathematician who deals with geometric representation theory and algebraic geometry.

It was established in 1992 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology at George Lusztig doctorate ( Character sheaves on symmetric spaces ). He is a professor at the University of Cambridge.

He dealt with representation theory of the symmetric group, quantum groups, representation theory of affine Hecke algebras, elliptic cohomology, Hilbert schemes, Hodge theory on infinite-dimensional manifolds, affine quantum algebras.

In 2004 he was awarded the first ever Cheerful Award.
