Ian Keith

Ian Keith ( born February 27, 1899 in Boston, † March 26, 1960 in New York City; actually Keith Ross) was an American theater and film actor.

Life

Ian Keith's began as a stage actor on Broadway in the 1920s. In 1924 he expanded his acting career by starring in the film a series of silent films. With the advent of the talkies, he was mainly performer of villains. 1930 planned the director Tod Browning, Bram Stoker's novel Dracula to adapt for a movie. After the death of Lon Chaney two actors were proposed: Ian Keith and Bela Lugosi. The role of the Transylvanian Count Dracula was later awarded in Lugosi and became famous. His career as a performer Keith decided in various B-movies, but his main focus was still on his Broadway career. Ian Keith has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
