Ian Mahinmi

Ian Mahinmi ( born November 5, 1986 in Rouen, France ) is a French basketball player. His father is from Benin, his mother from Jamaica. The 2.11 meter tall power forward currently plays for the Indiana Pacers in the NBA.

Ian Mahinmi played from 2003 to 2007 in the French LNB for STB Le Havre and Pau - Orthez Élan Béarnais. In 2007 he won with Pau Orthez - the French Cup.

He was selected in the NBA Draft at 28 position of the San Antonio Spurs, who took him but only on 23 August 2007 under the Treaty of 2005.

On November 21, Mahinmi was sent by the Spurs in the NBA Development League to the Austin Toros. On 28 January 2008 he was brought to San Antonio again briefly in the NBA. On February 16, he participated in the D- League All -Star Game held in the context of the NBA All-Star Weekend and scored nine rebounds.

At the end of the regular season 2007/ 08 Mahinmi was elected to the All- NBA Development League First Team. With the Toros Mahinmi then moved to the NBA D- League Finals, where they but with 1:2 after wins the Idaho Stampede documents.

Also in the 2008/ 09 season, Mahinmi was loaned anytime by the Spurs to the Austin Toros.

At the beginning of the season 2010/11 he signed a two-year contract with the Dallas Mavericks. With the Mavericks, he was able to win his first title of 2011 in the NBA in the NBA Finals. Dallas defeated the Miami Heat in the finals 4-2. In the following season he got because of the waste stream by Tyson Chandler more playing time and reached on 30 December 2011, a new Career High with 19 points. The Mavericks extended the contract with Mahinmi early and were trading him in the summer of 2012 to the Indiana Pacers.
