Ian Whittaker

Ian Whittaker is an American production designer and art director, the Academy Award for Best Production Design received at the Academy Awards in 1993.

Life

Whittaker began his career as a set designer in 1965 Catch us if you can, the directorial debut of John Boorman, and has to date participated as a production designer and art director in the production of more than 60 films. At the Academy Awards in 1980, he was first nominated for the Academy Award for Best Production Design and together with Michael Seymour, Leslie Dilley and Roger Christian for Alien - The sinister creature from another world (1979).

In 1993 he received then with Luciana Arrighi this Academy Award for Design in Howards End ( 1992). Together with Luciana Arrighi, he was then nominated two more times for the Academy Award for Best Production Design: For a 1994 remained for of the Day (1993 ), on the other hand at the Academy Awards 2000 Anna and the King ( 1999).
