Ib Glindemann

Ib Niels Carl Glindemann ( born September 27, 1934 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish jazz musician (trumpet ), composer and one of the most famous orchestra conductors in Denmark.

Glindemann studied from 1952 to 1956 at the Royal Conservatory in Copenhagen. During this time he led the amateur big band Skyliners, with whom he played arrangements in the style of Stan Kenton. In 1956, he served as a theater musician, a sixteen -member Big Band, with which it came to the first recordings. In 1958 he was the musical director of " pirate radio station " Radio Mercur. Between 1962 and 1964 he was the head of Horsens Byorkester to guide then until 1968 the New Dance Orchestra by Danmarks Radio.

Then he focused 25 years to writing film music; for the American market he also produced recordings of music for film backing. In 1994 he founded his own big band, with which he occurs in Denmark and has recorded five albums until 2009.

He was awarded as " excellent band leader " with the Danish Django d' Or 2005.
