Ibaraki University

The University Ibaraki (Japanese茨城 大学, Ibaraki daigaku, in short: Ibadai (茨 大) ) is a state university in Japan. The main campus is located in Mito in Ibaraki Prefecture.

History

The university was founded in 1949 by the merger of four state schools. The four were high school Mito (水 戸 高等学校, Mito Kōtō Gakko, founded in 1920 ), the Normal School Ibaraki (茨城 师范学校, Ibaraki shihan Gakko, founded in 1874 ), the Youth Normal School Ibaraki (茨城 青年 师范学校, Ibaraki his shihan Gakko, founded in 1903 ) and the pilot Taga (多 贺 工业 専 门 学校, Taga Kōgyō Semmon Gakko in Hitachi, founded in 1939 ).

The university was founded in 1946 as a private Agricultural University Kasumigaura (霞ヶ浦 農科 大学, Kasumigaura Noka daigaku ) in order to use a former military airfield peaceful.
