The station Ibbenbüren- Laggenbeck ( until 12 December 2004, only Laggenbeck ) is a railway station in the district Ibbenbürener Laggenbeck on the railway wages - Rheine. History

Although the railway line was opened between wages and Rheine in 1855 and it was first in Laggenbeck still no train station. In 1881 a goods station was set up in order to transport the funded Perm studs ores can. These ores were hauled with a horse-drawn railway from the mine after Laggenbeck. In 1884, then followed by the opening of the passenger station. With the reactivation of the Morning Star Bay in the 1920s, the railway lines were further expanded and the handling of goods at its height. By widening the railway facilities, it was also possible to distribute the platforms on both sides of the track and give up the middle platform. The activities funded within the morning star shaft at the eastern end of Sheep Mountain coal was transported in 1926 on a 3.5 km long cable car to the station in Laggenbeck and there stored in a bunker station before being transported by rail. In 1928, the Morning Star shaft was closed again, so that the importance of Laggenbecker station declined. The concrete foundation of the bunker is still present, but heavily overgrown.

In the 1990 the tracks were completely dismantled. The ticket office was closed and replaced by ticket machines. While the former goods shed is rented as a warehouse, the listed station building plummets because no reuse exists.

Today's meaning

The Laggenbeck station serves only the public transport nowadays. He is a stopping point for the trains of the RB 61 " Wiehengebirgs train " and the RE 60 " Ems - leash - Express". A cargo handling no longer takes place.
