Ibibio people

The Ibibio are a nation of about 3.976 million people in southeastern Nigeria.

In Nigeria, the Ibibio live mainly in the states of Akwa Ibom and Cross River. They make up about 4.2 percent of the Nigerian population. Their religion is predominantly Catholic Christianity, only a few are followers of their traditional religion. They are related to the Ogoni, which also belong to the Delta Cross branch within the Cross River languages.
